Nominations Open - 4th Annual Bull City All-Star Games ~ Cullen Classic for Cancer
Despite the uncertain times during this COVID-19 crisis, the 2020 Bull City All-Star Games Staff remains committed to fulfilling our “mission statement” to the maximum extent possible.
While we will be unable to hold our 4th annual event at Duke University, on Saturday, May 30, as initially planned, we are still looking to select and recognize the Top 100 men and women seniors from across the state.
High School coaches may begin nominating their best seniors on-line now. The nominations deadline is Friday, May 8, 2020.
Organized by local high school coaches and Duke Lacrosse Alumni, the Bull City All-Star Games serveas a dynamic way to honor the contributions Tony Cullen made to the sport of lacrosse: first as a player and a coach at Duke; then as an NCAA official. Tony impacted the trajectory of lacrosse in North Carolina for 25 years, before he lost his battle with cancer in 2002.
In our first three years, our event has raised over $18,600 for the NCHSAA Tony Cullen Memorial Scholarship Fund and the Duke Cancer Institute
Our event has not only helped recapitalize the scholarship fund, but also allowed the NCHSAA to award BOTH a Men’s and Women’s scholarship in 2020. The addition of the women’s scholarship has always been one of our long-term goals, and we’re very excited and proud that our event has helped make that a reality.
