5-Goal 1st Lead Panther Creek Over Cary

By Damian Hall 03/29/2017

Cary - Panther Creek started fast and never gave up in a decisive 12-6 conference win. The Panthers scored the game's first five goals and never relinquished the lead. Cary fought back hard throughout the game. Three times they were able to close the lead to just two, but never were able to get any closer.

The game started slow with neither team scoring in the first few minutes of a goal. Panther Creek's Cam Sechler opened the scoring when he scored man-down in transition three minutes into the game. The Panthers would win the ensuing faceoff and kill off the remainder of the penalty. The Panthers would control the rest of the first quarter, scoring four times in the final five minutes.

Cary got on the board early in the second after riding the ball back and scoring EMO 90 seconds in. Each team score once more to make the halftime score 6-2.

The second half opened with Cary scoring an EMO goal less than a minute into the quarter to cut the lead to 6-3. The Panthers, however, would respond with another run of four unanswered goals to extend their lead to 10-3 at the end of the 3rd.

The Imps never gave up fighting hard throughout the last quarter but were never able to pull closer than 5 goals.
