The 4A lacrosse season has been a whirlwind of tough competiative games and surprise upsets. In the end the game that everyone was waiting for has finally come to be. The east regional final between #1 Middle Creek and #2 Cardinal Gibbons will mark the biggest game of the year, especially in the Triangle.
These two teams squared have been on a collision course all season. Something is going to give between the high-scoring offense of Middle Creek and the staunch, rangy defense of the Crusaders. Which team can win the faceoff battle, and stay out of the penalty box, may well be the key to victory tonight.
Cardinal Gibbons has not lost to a NC opponent since a 13-9 loss to eventual state champion Apex in the 2013 Regional Semi-Finals. Coincidentally, that was the last year these two teams squared off with Gibbons winning 16-15 in 2OT.
The game starts at 6pm at Middle Creek.

Nick Holata :: 2nd Year :: 36-5 (46-12 career)
"[Middle Creek] players and staff have a great deal of respect for the Cardinal Gibbons players and staff and their program's lacrosse tradition. They have an excellent group of players that compete in all phases of the game and we are looking forward to an exciting game."
