The Carolina Hilltopper Lacrosse Program will hold their fall tryouts on September 9 th
at North Carolina Central University. This season the Hilltoppers will field teams for
players in the high school graduating classes of 2019 through 2027. The fall season
consists of five practices on turf fields and two regional tournaments in Greensboro,
North Carolina on October 21st/22nd and in Charlotte, North Carolina on October
27th/28th. Players who try out in the 2020 and 2019 classes, will not only try out for
their age based team but also have the opportunity to be selected for a combined
team will compete in one national recruiting event in November. Tryouts are
completely free, which is intentionally done to allow all prospective players an equal
opportunity to make the team. With this year's tournaments being close to home and
practices being held on the weekends, the fall season is designed to give local
athletes the ability to participate in other fall sports.
Forming in 2011, the Carolina Hilltoppers started with only a high school A and B
team. Now, almost eight years later, they have grown to become the Triangle's
longest-lasting club lacrosse organization with teams for players from high school to
elementary school and ranging across multiple skill levels. In their tenure, they have
seen 75+ of our former players go on to compete on NCAA D1, D2, and D3 lacrosse
teams. Furthermore, countless members of Hilltopper teams have made their high
school All-Conference teams, and they’ve had multiple All-Region, All-State, All-
American, and Academic All-American players as well! The Hiltoppers take great
pride in the success of their young men and frequently see their alumni come back to
pass on what they have learned from the college game to their current players. The
Hilltopper coaching staff is made up of experienced local coaches, many of whom
have enjoyed great success in both players and coaches at the collegiate and high
school level. All of their dedicated coaches and administrators put an emphasis on
player development and making sure the game is fun.
If you or someone you know would like join our program this fall, please and sign up
for their free tryouts by visiting Hilltopperlax.com or email program director Franklin
Zirkle at Nccoachz@gmail.com with any questions. Players also have the ability to
make a team by submitting film if this year’s tryout date cannot be made. The
Hilltoppers hope to see you out on the field on September 9 th as their tryout is a great
way to find out more about their program and see how you stack up against some of
the area's top players!
